SCHOOL ACCOUNTABILITY COMMITTEE
The Trailblazer SAC meets regularly. The committee is made up of staff, parents, and community members who are dedicated to maintaining the quality and integrity of Trailblazer Elementary School.

We are currently looking for a community representative to serve on our TBE SAC. If you know someone who does not have children at Trailblazer and is interested in serving on our SAC, send them our way!
The DCSD District Accountability Committee meets at 6:30 pm in the Board Room @ the District Office on Wilcox St. in Castle Rock (unless otherwise noted) on the third Thursday every month with some exceptions.

Select DAC Liaison.
Review SAC Bylaws (if not already completed).
Review achievement data.
Review progress toward Unified Improvement Plan (UIP) goals.
Discuss whether school leadership, personnel, and infrastructure are advancing or impeding the implementation of the public school's performance improvement, priority improvement, or turnaround plan (whichever is applicable), or other progress pertinent to the public school's accreditation contract with the Board of Education.
Discuss any safety issues.

September
Review Douglas County School District Strategic Plan.
Discuss any safety issues related to the school environment.
Collect questions and community inquiries.
October
Review results from the previous year's UIP goals/targets and action plans.
Discuss other relevant data that will be reviewed to determine student achievement outside of TCAP.
Begin work on the current year's UIP goals/targets and action plans.
Principal report on issues related to the new school year.
DAC Liaison reports on DAC Forum
Discuss any safety issues related to the school environment.
Collect questions and community inquiries.
November/December
Create, and vote to approve, the write-up on the "process used to involve SAC in the development of the UIP."
Ensure all SAC-related items on SIP Central have been completed.
Create an educational piece for your school community about SchoolView and the information being made available in December/January from the Colorado Department of Education.
Monitor implementation of UIP goals/action plans.
Discuss whether school leadership, personnel, and infrastructure are advancing or impeding the implementation of the public school's performance improvement, priority improvement, or turnaround plan (whichever is applicable), or other progress pertinent to the public school's accreditation contract with the Board of Education.

Review testing schedule for PARCC and other assessments.
Prep work for parent survey (if applicable) - brainstorm how to increase our school's participation.

Send parent survey and encourage participation, if applicable.

Continue budget discussions for next school year - discuss priorities for spending state, federal, or local school moneys; private grants; override dollars tied to educational purposes; other discretionary moneys.

Continue/finalize work on budget recommendations to the principal for the next school year.
Receive end-of-year report from the principal.
Revisit SAC Criteria Assessment (located on SIP Central) and evaluate your SAC; modify if necessary; identify areas for continued improvement.
